Nourish & Nurture – Fertiliser – Product Guide

removing moss and debris from a lawn

A lush and healthy lawn is the goal of any gardener, whether they are new to the world of lawn care or a seasoned grass aficionado.

However, key to achieving this is the process of fertilisation, which provides the essential nutrients your lawn needs to thrive.

Our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser has been specially formulated to support existing lawns.

It does this by promoting strong root systems, protecting against harsh weather conditions, and improving resilience against diseases.

Continue reading our guide for how to use our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser…

1. Applying Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser

Applying fertiliser correctly is important for ensuring that your lawn receives the nutrients it needs to thrive.

In addition, if fertiliser is not distributed properly, it can result in some areas receiving more than others, causing unnecessary damage to your grass.

To apply our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser effectively, you should:

  • Clear your lawn. Make sure your lawn is free of debris, rocks, and leaves
  • Trim your grass. Mow your lawn to around 1-1.5 inches to help your fertiliser have contact with the soil more quickly
  • Make sure your lawn is dry. Only apply fertiliser to dry grass, as this allows for better absorption and even distribution
  • Use a spreader. You can use a broadcast or drop spreader, depending on the size of your lawn, to provide a more uniform application
  • Apply in two directions. For comprehensive coverage, you should distribute half the fertiliser when walking north to south and the other half when walking east to west. Following this pattern ensures thorough coverage and minimises missed areas
  • Follow the application rate. Avoid over-fertilising your lawn by following the recommended rates and frequency. You should apply 20-35g per m² of our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser
  • Clean up the excess. After application, make sure to sweep up any excess fertiliser granules from patios, paths, and driveways to prevent staining and potential runoff issues

2. Watering after fertilising

Once you have successfully applied your fertiliser, it’s time to start making sure that it can work its magic.

Watering is key for dissolving fertiliser granules and ensuring that they are adequately absorbed into the soil.

To get the maximum benefits from your fertiliser, you need to:

  • Water immediately. You should water your lawn as soon as possible after fertilising, as this will encourage it to dissolve and release the nutrients into the soil
  • Irrigate when necessary. If rain is not expected within 48 hours, then you will need to irrigate your lawn thoroughly. Without water, fertiliser will not be able to absorb and will be left sitting on the grass, which can lead to scorching and leaf burn

3. How often should I apply Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser?

Fertilising your lawn regularly can help maintain its health and keep it resilient against pests and diseases.

However, you should only fertilise your lawn as and when it requires it; otherwise, you risk over-fertilising it, which can create a whole host of issues for your lawn.

To ensure that your lawn stays durable, we recommend applying our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser:

  • Once in mid to late autumn (October-November) to strengthen roots and nourish your lawn before winter
  • Reapplying it again in early spring (February-March) to encourage new growth ahead of the summer months

Keep your lawn thriving throughout the seasons with our Nourish & Nurture Fertiliser.
